Foreign citizens of Bangladeshi origin are eligible to obtain “No Visa Required to Travel to Bangladesh” in their foreign passports. Their (foreign-born) spouses and children are also eligible for this endorsement, which allows the holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with an unlimited duration of stay for the duration of the passport.

Applying for NVR

To apply for a ‘No Visa Required (NVR), the applicant must submit the following:

For Bangladesh-born foreign citizens (except SAARC countries):

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs taken within the last 6 months;

03. Any of the following documents issued by the competent authority of Bangladesh:

• Dual citizenship certificate
• Valid or expired Bangladesh MRP or ePassport
• National ID card
• 17-digit verifiable birth certificate

04. Foreign passport on which NVR will be endorsed;

05. Copy of valid stay permit for non-Thai foreign citizens.

For spouse/children of foreign nationality of any Bangladeshi national or Bangladeshi-origin foreign citizen (except SAARC countries):

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs were taken within the last 6 months;

03. Any of the following documents issued to the Bangladeshi national by the competent authority of Bangladesh:

• Dual citizenship certificate
• Valid or expired Bangladesh MRP or ePassport
• National ID card
• 17-digit verifiable birth certificate

04. Foreign passport on which NVR will be endorsed;

05. For spouse: Copy of Marriage certificate (translated into English if needed) attested by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in case of Thai nationals) or the concerned Embassy in Bangkok (for other nationals);

06. For children: Copy of birth certificate attested by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in case of Thai nationals) or the concerned Embassy in Bangkok (for other nationals);

07. Self-declaration of relationship by the Bangladeshi national/Bangladesh origin foreign national.

08. Copy of valid stay permit for non-Thai foreign citizens.

Foreign investor:

A foreign investor having an investment of at least US$ 5.00 million in any heavy industry or long-term investment in any industry/business in Bangladesh would be eligible for ‘No Visa required for travel to Bangladesh’ endorsement in his/her passport.

Standard applicable fee:

* Mission receives fees in equivalent Thai Baht only.
