Foreign citizens of Bangladesh origin are eligible to obtain “No Visa Required to Travel to Bangladesh”  in their foreign passports. Their (foreign born) spouses and children are also eligible for this endorsement, which allows the holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with an unlimited duration of stay within the validity of the passport.

Applying for NVR 

To apply for a ‘No Visa Required (NVR), the applicant must submit the following:

 For Bangladesh-born foreign citizen and his/her spouse and children (except SAARC countries):

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs taken within the last 6 months;

03. Dual citizenship certificate or Bangladesh passport or Bangladesh passport/National ID card issued before taking dual citizenship or birth certificate/nationality certificate issued by Union Parishad/Municipality/City Corporation in Bangladesh;

04. Foreign passport/citizenship certificate;

05. Police Verification Report;

02. For spouse/children of foreign nationality of Bangladesh origin foreign citizen (except SAARC countries):

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs were taken within the last 6 months;

03. Valid Bangladesh passport/dual citizenship certificate of father/mother/spouse or Bangladesh passport/National ID card of father/mother/spouse issued before taking dual citizenship or birth certificate/nationality certificate of father/mother/spouse issued by Union Parishad/Municipality/City Corporation in Bangladesh;

04. Foreign passport/citizenship certificate;

05. Declaration of Relationship in favour of the applicant by the father/mother/spouse;

06. Police Verification Report;

For spouse/children of foreign nationality of Bangladeshi citizen:

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs taken within the last 6 months;

03. Valid Bangladesh passport/National ID card of father/mother/spouse or birth certificate/nationality certificate of father/mother/spouse issued by Union Parishad/ Municipality/City Corporation in Bangladesh;

04. Foreign passport/citizenship certificate;

05. Marriage certificate (for spouse);

06. Declaration of Relationship in favour of spouse/children of foreign nationality by the father/mother/spouse;

07. Police Verification Report;

For the holders of citizenship of the countries of Europe, the United States of America, Australia, Canada and New Zealand by the people of Bangladesh origin:

01. Completed application form;

02. Three 45mmx35mm photographs were taken within the last 6 months;

03. Educational certificate from the government-approved education board/university / Bangladesh passport/National ID card/birth certificate/ nationality certificate issued by local government bodies for proof of Bangladesh nationality;

04. Foreign passport;

Foreign investor:

A foreign investor having an investment of at least US$ 5.00 million in any heavy industry or long term investment in any industry/business in Bangladesh would be eligible for ‘No Visa required for travel to Bangladesh’ endorsement in his/her passport.

Standard applicable fee:

* Mission receives fees in equivalent Thai Baht only.

Application submission time: 9.00 am-12.00 pm (every working day).

Delivery time: Delivery would depend on the receipt of the Police Verification Report. It may take 08 (eihgt) weeks.
